Metal, specialty shingles and full siding replacement in Greenwood
From our Decatur office we take on whole-roof and whole-house projects in Greenwood and across Wise County. Ranch and farm country around Greenwood suits metal: standing seam on the house, and 26-gauge R-panel on barns, shops and outbuildings.
- Specialty and designer shingles. Designer and luxury shingles and slate-look and shake-look shingles for homes where the roof is part of the look.
- Standing seam and other metal. 26-gauge standing seam, plus 26-gauge R-panel, stone-coated steel and metal shingles and tile. We form our standing seam panels in-house on our own roll formers and standing seam machine, and our own crew installs them.
- Premium shingle systems. Impact-rated shingle systems from the manufacturers we're certified with (GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning and Atlas). Class 3 is our minimum and Class 4 is available, with TDI Form PC068 for your insurer. Credits vary by company.
- Full siding replacement. Whole-house siding replacement, done with the roof, gutters, soffit and fascia in one project when you want everything to match.
Snow Roofing & Exteriors is A+ rated on the BBB. We do repair leaks and storm damage near Greenwood too, and if a repair is all your roof needs, we'll tell you that first. See storm & hail inspections.
Two cowboys, a creek and a college
Greenwood is on Farm Road 1204 in northeast Wise County. TSHA says two cowboys named Hart and Greenwood camped in the area in the 1870s and gave their names to the creek (Hart's Creek) and the town. Wag Wilson built a stone house called Rock Ranch that settlers used as a fort. The post office opened in 1877, and in 1892 the town built the Greenwood Male and Female Normal College, which lasted until a fire in 1908. Fires hurt the town again in later decades, and the Depression-era stone school was built by the WPA. By the 1970s the local economy leaned on dairy and beef.
Greenwood is unincorporated, so there's no Census population estimate. What we know is the land around it: ranches, pastures, barns and acreage homes.
