Metal, specialty shingles and full siding replacement in Bowie
From our Decatur office we take on whole-roof and whole-house projects in Bowie and across Montague County. For Bowie homeowners, the projects we do most are whole-roof and whole-house: metal, specialty shingles and siding.
- Specialty and designer shingles. Designer and luxury shingles and slate-look and shake-look shingles for homes where the roof is part of the look.
- Standing seam and other metal. 26-gauge standing seam, plus 26-gauge R-panel, stone-coated steel and metal shingles and tile. We form our standing seam panels in-house on our own roll formers and standing seam machine, and our own crew installs them.
- Premium shingle systems. Impact-rated shingle systems from the manufacturers we're certified with (GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning and Atlas). Class 3 is our minimum and Class 4 is available, with TDI Form PC068 for your insurer. Credits vary by company.
- Full siding replacement. Whole-house siding replacement, done with the roof, gutters, soffit and fascia in one project when you want everything to match.
Snow Roofing & Exteriors is A+ rated on the BBB. We do repair leaks and storm damage near Bowie too, and if a repair is all your roof needs, we'll tell you that first. See storm & hail inspections.
Montague County's biggest town
Bowie is the largest town in Montague County. It was named for Alamo defender Jim Bowie when residents applied for a post office in 1882. Census estimates show it at 5,445 residents in the 2020 base and about 6,113 in 2025. Around town it's ranch and farm country with lots of metal barns, and more barndominiums every year.
Montague County hail is serious
NOAA's Storm Events Database lists 2.5-inch hail at Bowie on May 9, 2024, and 4- to 4.5-inch hail around St. Jo and Capps Corners on May 19, 2025. That's softball-size hail. NOAA also logged an EF-0 tornado at Bowie on April 28, 2026. Montague County had 25 reports of golf-ball-size or larger hail from 2016 through mid-2026.
Hail that big will damage almost any roof. When we rebuild, we use Class 4 shingles or metal, and Class 3 is the minimum we'll install. We'll be straight with you: no roof is hail-proof, but an impact-rated roof gives you a much better chance.
